,

There may be a higher incidence between pancreatitis and pneumonia

because of the sedentary lifestyle led by persons with pancreatitis.

I know that I spend a large amount of time in bed. And, anyone who

does is at risk for pneumonia. The body needs to be kept mobile and

active so fluids do not become stationary in the lungs. As a nurse,

that is why we often TC, DB (turn, cough, and deep breath) every two

hours. This is mainly for persons who have recently had surgery, but

it pertains to anyone to is bedbound or sedentary for any given

length of time. Pneumonia of this kind can creep up on you and even

present without an elevated temperature.
