, what ingredient in it is not legal? On the

web site it states it was developed due to people on

diets who do not wish to take in disacchrides and

polysacchrides. The only ingredients other than the

bacteria strands are cellulose, silicon dioxide, and

plant cellulose. Just curious. Thanks for the info.

, Also if this is illegal, what probiotics do

you give for kids on the diet. I have already ordered

some S Boulardii. Is this enough? I am going to see

our DAN in two weeks but did not want to go to long

without probiotics until then.

Hi, ,

Elaine only allowed acidophilus and then more recently the

Saccharomyces Boulardii. She was very much against the bifidus. Some

of the other strains in the Pro-Bio are legal as yogurt starters but

not as probiotics. Perhaps Sheila knows why.

The bifidum genus seems to overgrow in SCDers, likely because the

microbes that normally compete with it are starved out giving the

bifidum too much " space " and food to overgrow. The acidophilus and S.

boulardii don't tend to overgrow and are seen as helpful microbes for

SCDers.

Elaine only liked L. acidophilus in probiotic form (bacteria) because

it had a lot of good research and feedback from SCDers. She was

concerned that other normally good bacteria away from their natural

sources (fermented foods) may behave poorly. One of the reasons she

didn't want people use large amounts of L. acidophilus as a probiotic

either.

>Hi. Since I already ordered it (my trigger finger for online

shopping is very quick) can I possibly use it every other day or

every two days alternating with L. acidophilus for my son? do you

think it would still overgrow?

I wouldn't advise using it - a lot of people have had very bad flares

and regressions when they used it.

If you haven't opened it maybe they will let you return it. If it

hasn't arrived maybe you can cancel the order.
