tonight I was able to get ONLY 4 forkfuls of black eyed peas in me and

then the stomach pain started....all over 11 minutes....mild but

chronic pain.....I know to eat carbs and not fat, but is protein

totally ruled out??? i've lost 28 lbs in 7 weeks....I'm 58 and " new "

with these symptoms. Antacids don't touch it. Thanks Shybasset

I eat a moderate amount of carbs but I eat a lot of protein to keep my

muscle mass up. I calculate the amount I need for kg and try and get at

least 2/3 of that each day. I am only on pureed food and the pain comes

with every meal. I don't have any suggestions just that I keep trying.

Take care and God Bless. Deb

Shybasset,

have you tried nutritional supplements? They are sometimes easier on the

pancreas, but still have some protein content to help you get it. It's

worth a try. I always keep some on hand for those days when everything

causes pain or I'm on fluids only. It's worth a try. I've found the

Ensure's High Protein, Chocolate Royale flavor the best for me. It's got

the highest protein content with only 6 grams of fat.

There are many other flavors, so it's worth trying.
