Guest guest
My family is going to Seven Hills, Ohio on Monday Oct. 22nd for an appointment. This is a long drive for us from Canada so we are packing lots of food; as we likely will be away from home for 12 hours. I am very concerned about the border..as they may give us a problem with our food. So i am hoping to have a back up restaurant to eat at..if necessary. I don't think we can figure out where to eat on our own; we likely would drive around forever trying to find a place that could accomadate my very food intolerant/allergic family. We can't eat any raw fruits/veggies, Can't have legal dairy and only one of my kids can eat eggs...so I am looking for a restaurant that would be able to cook us some meat, specific veggies to my specifications; contaminated with nothing... We have never been to Ohio, so we would appreciate it if someone had any ideas of somewhere we could eat. Our destination is 320 Orchardview Ave...maybe someone would know of a restaurant nearby...that might be able to feed us.... Thanks, Cathy mom of celiac kiddos scd for 1 year
Guest guest
Cathy, Trouble at the border could depend on where you cross. When coming back from Toronto this summer, we crossed at Niagara Falls (Rainbow Bridge) and they didn't even ask about food. (Either going to or coming back from Canada.) We had our passports, and a list all ready, if needed, but the question didn't even come up. Of course, the dachshunds woofing in the back of the van might have distracted them.... I get to test the border between Seattle and Vancouver tomorrow.... after testing the TSA for our flight. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
Hi Cathy. You must be going to see Dr. Demio. He is our DAN too. I am not sure of what restaurants are good around there becuase we are in Columbus and he has an office here too, but if you call his secretary she should be able to give you some tips. I know Dr. Demio does SCD himself so he may even have some suggestions, though I know he does not eat out too often. Hopefully you can bring some stuff of your own and won't run into any problems. --- cjb202207 wrote: > My family is going to Seven Hills, Ohio on Monday > Oct. 22nd for an > appointment. > This is a long drive for us from Canada so we are > packing lots of > food; as we likely will be away from home for 12 > hours. Guest guest
thank you Yes...we are seeing Dr. Demio...i am so happy to hear that i don't need to explain the scd to him. That makes me feel so good!! I have been to so many doctors(in canada) who didn't believe me or just couldn't help me with my kids' million food and health issues etc... feeding these kids for the last 10 years has been a full time job for me. My kids are not autistic but have had so many ASD related concerns. I feel much better about spending all the $ to see this doctor now,.. I will call the office to see if they can be more help.. Thanks so much, Cathy > > Hi Cathy. You must be going to see Dr. Demio. He is > our DAN too. Guest guest
I am sure you will be happy. He is actually the one who introduced the diet and recommended it for us. We did GFCF for almost 5 years before starting this a couple of weeks ago. Anyways he is very knowledgable and knows his stuff. Have a good trip, I hope you don't have too much trouble with the food. --- cjb202207 wrote: > thank you > Yes...we are seeing Dr. Demio...i am so happy to > hear that i don't > need to explain the scd to him. That makes me feel so > good!! > I have been to so many doctors(in canada) who didn't > believe me or > just couldn't help me with my kids' million food and > health issues > etc... feeding these kids for the last 10 years has > been a full time > job for me. > My kids are not autistic but have had so many ASD > related concerns. > I feel much better about spending all the $ to see > this doctor > now,.. > I will call the office to see if they can be more > help.. > Thanks so much, > Cathy > > > > > Hi Cathy.
