Guest guest
Hi Karyn, Thanks alot for your reply....that sure does make sense, and I do seem to spend alot of time in bed, when I'm not running around with these girls of mine. It was just something Lily said when I was talking to her on the telly the other day that made me think twice about it, ya know? But I do appreciate you taking time to write back to me about this. I hope your weekend is a good one. I know that I spend a large amount of time in bed. And, anyone who does is at risk for pneumonia. The body needs to be kept mobile and active so fluids do not become stationary in the lungs. As a nurse, that is why we often TC, DB (turn, cough, and deep breath) every two hours. This is mainly for persons who have recently had surgery, but it pertains to anyone to is bedbound or sedentary for any given length of time. Pneumonia of this kind can creep up on you and even present without an elevated temperature. Karyn , RN
