I have intermittent surges of acut pain lasting less than 1 minut in the middle and on left/right side of pelvic area for past 7 weeks,,,,about time I started Ativan. Thanks for pelvic comments as part of cp diagnosis. Shybasset
Guest guest
I get that too. I have no idea why I get it though. To me, I don't know, blood work is a true identifier (and ERCP and EUS) of CP. If you are sick long enough, your blood work checks out normal. The only way to really know, In my opinion, is to take a peak in there and look around. When I first got it, I was in the ER with kidney stones, a panc attack and some other stuff. CT didn't pick up the inflamation. Elevated Lipase and Amylase were it. My Amylase doesn't elevate anymore, back then it did. I got some ER resident who said, oh, you have pancreatitis, laughed at me, said if I never ate or drank anything for the rest of my life, I'd be fine and sent me home. He was right. That attack didn't end for MONTHS. I fondly refer to it as " the big one " . I knew I was dying, I also knew if the right doc didn't find me, I would be dead. Finally, the right doc found me and saved my life. When I woke up, I realized I almost died...it was weird. CP is nothing to mess around with. It can be very very serious and life threatening, for sure. Yo have to learn when you need to get your rear in the hospital and what will pass. It's like a game of chess. My doc, luckily, does not care. He says if in doubt, come on it! It concerns me that your doc seems be very relaxed about this??? What's up with that? What's been done so far and what's in the plan to be done? If this doc isn't doing enough, move on, ok?-Kathleen
