we're going back onto SCD after a year or so off it. Last time we did

it Tom lost weight and he's a tiny skinny little thing due to his

inflammation. But we just know it suits his digestion so.... here

goes. Does anyone know if xylitol (from tree birch) is legal? He

hates saccharine and is not at keen on honey but he does like xylitol

although he can't work out why it doesn't get him high like sugar used

to!

Also, any high calorie, yummy recipes would be good. I have Elaine's

book - any other recipe books would be great.

Hi, ,

Xylitol is illegal. My son was not a fan of honey at first

either. I stopped trying to make candy because he didn't like the

taste of honey. Honey was ok in baked goods; he couldn't really tell

where the sweetness came from. I had to sweeten homemade jam with

honey very cautiously--cut the tartness of the fruit but not add so

much honey that could taste and identify it. I think he likes

honey better now, but I still don't make candy, though I don't think he

misses it. It all worked out fine.
