Guest guest
Hi! I have a 3 1/2 year old that we are preparing to begin the SCD diet. I have been trying out various recipes from BTVC and the pecanbread website. I was wondering if anyone knew the best egg substitute for waffles or even had a eggless waffle recipe that they know works. My little boy loves waffles, but has an egg allergy. I'm having a hard time finding something to keep them together. Thanks so much! (mom of Luke, 3 1/2, ASD)
Guest guest
Though I have not tried it myself, I have heard that putting 1 Tbsp of ground flaxseed and 3 Tbsp of water in a food processor for a few minutes substitutes well for an egg. Others have successfully used one small banana per egg. Judy Eggless Waffle? Hi! I have a 3 1/2 year old that we are preparing to begin the SCD diet. Guest guest
Welcome to the group Judy, Sorry, but the flax seed is not legal. The seeds are mucilaginous and full of tough lignin. It will feed the harmful microbes we are trying to starve out. There are some ideas for egg replacements at http://pecanbread.com/new/recipes1.html Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 23yrs, PCOD 22yrs mom of and > > Though I have not tried it myself, I have heard that putting 1 Tbsp of ground flaxseed and 3 Tbsp of water in a food processor for a few minutes substitutes well for an egg.
