Pam, I am post op from 9/21/00. I enjoy reading about people who are close

to me in my walk to being healthy. I have lost 52 lbs and feeling good.

Over the past few days I have noticed my husband just staring at me in the

face. Finally, today I asked him what he was looking at. He said You are

melting away daily and your face is² LOOKING GOOD²! He is so excited for

me and almost daily makes a comment on how good I am looking. I have a long

way to go but I have already come a long way.

I am so happy I had the MGB and I have no doubt that it has saved my life.

I need to get on a regular exercise program. My knee is getting better and I

feel I could handle some stress on it. I can not do any impact exercises

because of the lack of cushion in my knee but I know I can do more. My

husband and I have started walking and it does put some strain on my knee

but I think the more I walk the stronger it will get.

Let¹s keep up with each other.

Glenda,

NC

Glenda,

If you have an indoor pool in your area you might

consider water aerobics or even water walking. The

water walking is done in shallow water, maybe about

mid thigh high and takes a lot of the stress off the

leg joints. Just an idea.
