Guest guest
I have been on enzymes for about 10 months now, creon to be exact. I was wondering if ya'll that have been on long term enzymes therapy have ever had to switch or change your dosage of these enzymes. Do we build up a certain degree of tolerance to them after a said period of time? I'm just wondering if maybe that is why I ahve been having difficulties lately. Guest guest
Chrissy, After my pancreas burned out I had to change enzymes and increase my dosage. I'd been using Ultrace20's, 4 with each meal. They weren't working as well as before. My doc switched me to Viokase16's, 5-6 with each meal. That's also when I had to start taking the proton pump inhibitor, Protonix. I believe both the increase and the change of brand was because of the loss of my own enzymes due to the burn out. I've not had any problems with digestion since the change, and have been able to gain weight, as a result. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth hhessgriffeth@...
