Guest guest
Hi Bonita- I use the Midas Gold pancakes/waffles recipe in the BTVC book in a wafflemaker and it always turns out great! It is just a basic inexpensive wafflemaker too, nothing fancy. We eat them as waffles for breakfast or with almond butter and homemade scd jam for " sandwiches " . Guest guest
For those of you who successfully make waffles/pancakes, I've not had any luck keeping pancakes together without the traditional flour or GFCF flours. Every time I've tried they stick to the pan and fall apart. I even have some non-stick pans. Does a waffle maker help this any? I would invest in one if I knew it would work. Or are there some tricks to the trade I should know about. Bonita
Guest guest
Hi, Bonita, I don't make waffles. I had too much trouble successfully making SAD waffles! But I know others have success. I used to have trouble cooking pancakes; it was so frustrating. Now I use lots of oil on my pan (even when I use a non-stick pan), even re-applying it after I've made a few. And I usually keep the size of the pancakes small so that they are easier to turn. I try not to turn them too soon, and that helps, too. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
