Guest guest
Does almond flour have to be made from blanched almonds? Or doesn't it matter? Thanks, Janelle
Guest guest
Hi, Janelle, Yes, it does matter. When introducing almond flour, it should be from blanched almonds. Later on when more healing has occured you can try unblanched. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
Thank you . Does almond butter need to be made from blanched almonds also? Logically yes, but I thought I'd verify that. Do any other nuts need to be blanched? I've found hazelnut butter at the store and my coffee bean grinder will grind up small amounts of pecans and that turns into pecan butter but I cannot find almond butter in the store that is blanched so I thought I'd ask. Guest guest
Again, for nut butter, the blanching is necessary at first. I make my own in my food processor from blanched almond slivers I buy at Trader Joes. There is a blanched almond butter called Almondie that is sold here: http://www.digestivewellness.com/itempage.asp? item=1210&cat=24&subcategory=14 and probably at other places as well. Pecans and walnuts cannot be blanced. However, pecans are very well tolerated in general even though they are not blanched. Nuts that are possible to blanch (hazel nuts for one) should be blanched. mom to -12 SCd 4/23/
