Hi, Janelle,

Yes, it does matter. When introducing almond flour, it should be from

blanched almonds. Later on when more healing has occured you can try

unblanched.

Does almond butter need to be made from blanched almonds also?

Logically yes, but I thought I'd verify that. Do any other nuts need

to be blanched? I've found hazelnut butter at the store and my coffee

bean grinder will grind up small amounts of pecans and that turns into

pecan butter but I cannot find almond butter in the store that is

blanched so I thought I'd ask.

Again, for nut butter, the blanching is necessary at first. I make my

own in my food processor from blanched almond slivers I buy at Trader

Joes. There is a blanched almond butter called Almondie that is sold

here:

and probably at other places as well.

Pecans and walnuts cannot be blanced. However, pecans are very well

tolerated in general even though they are not blanched. Nuts that are

possible to blanch (hazel nuts for one) should be blanched.
