Guest guest
Hi, Liz, I just checked the website and it says this: The heated milk needs to be cooled to ROOM TEMPERATURE or below (as per Elaine's yogurt making instructions in BTVC). The range for room temperature is 20–25 °C (64-77 °F). So you were right. Where on the website does it say 100F? mom to -12 SCD 4/23/04 - I was reading the BTVC website section on heating pad yogurt making - the one with the pictures? That one says 100 degrees I believe - I'm going to look again. If you look and if it doesn't will you let me know? How high do you heat? Guest guest
The pictorial guide is here: http://www.pecanbread.com/new/yogurt1.html#makepic and it too says 64-77F. I'm not sure I understand the " how high do you heat? " question. I heat the milk initially to 180-185 to kill bacteria and then I keep my yogurt between 100-110F to ferment. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
