Hi nancy,

That's quite a list there but most of those have a large variance in the

extent of the condition. They affect some patients more than others. The SSDI is

for " disability " , the SSA and a " judge " are not doctors but they are there to

make a judgement as to " disability " . I would suggest a focus on the conditions

of disability, those things that are symptoms that would prevent employment of

any kind. Even the side effects of perscribed medications. It's important to

cover things like frequency of symptoms, duration associated disabilities.

Such as can you drive, can you travel, can you sit, can you think, can you eat,

can you talk, what is your attention span, can you follow instruction, what

were you capable of before illness, what you did before illness, what is your

normal line of employment, can you do anything else, are you trained to do

anything else, is there any job out there that you could possibly do, do you

want to

work, have you tried to work, have you ever been released form work due to

your symptoms, would you be willing to try to accept help in gaining employment,

do the doctors consider your condition as permanent, how long have you been

out of work, all of these are a tall order to cover in the 15 to 20 minutes you

might have before a judge so I suggest you be well prepared.

Remember, one primary thought of the SSA and/or a judge is to make

abssolultly sure that no one can ever critize their judgement, they must hear

and have

documented a hard rock solid case.

Best wishes, Poncho - GA

Hi T.,

Ask your Lawyer...But they took in account my high uncontrolled blood

pressure...back in 90..And I had chronic tiredness...I went in front of a

judge...but I had to be taken out by squad at work.I'm an LPN..My blood pressure

shot up really high ,suddenly..So I'm sure this played a roll in me getting

approved .I really think I had a mini stroke..I don't move like I did before

that..slower...Hugs, in Ga. from Ohio

Hi all,

I have been turned down twice for SSD and am now waiting to go before a law

judge. I have noticed that a lot of you have said that you did not get awarded

disability based on the diagnosis of CP. Do you think it is more likely to get

approved by focusing more on some of our other diagnoses? I have CP, SOD, high

cholesterol, high triglycerides (which are uncontrolled on medication and I know

that high triglycerides can cause pancreatitic attacks), hypothyroidism, severe

reflux, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, degenerative arthritis of my knees,

feet, and back, a protruding disc in my back, pitting edema, and am starting to

have problems with my blood sugars. Should I concentrate more on some of these

things?

I would truly appreciate any and all advice from those of you who have been

" approved " and those of you who are where I am in waiting for a trial.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all!

Thanks,

T.
