*The website article that Grammy Bauer posted says the following:

Foods you can slowly try after symptoms have improved:*

- Quinoa

- Spelt

PLEASE BE WARNED THAT SPELT AND QUINOA ARE SCD ILLEGAL.

EATING THEM

COULD BRING IMMEDIATE OR DELAYED REGRESSIONS!

I think that Kendall meant that these foods could be tried after many years

of SCD.

A few years ago, the BED diet was heavily promoted in the ASD community.

Many

parents parents who were implementing SCD gave their children quinoa.

Sometimes

the children got sick right away, while other times the problems appeared

after many

months. There were even some major disasters: one boy developed appendicitis

and

one girl lost her hearing when her ear infections became acute. When the

girl did SCD

her ear infections had been under control but they got worse after she tried

quinoa.

Kendall Conrad's daughter does not have autism; so maybe she was able to

tolerate the

quinoa rather quickly but the guts of children with ASD are more damaged.

Elaine did not want us to eat quinoa and spelt while doing SCD. Please do

not take this

risk!

All the best,

Mimi
