Guest guest
Hi - How ironic is this? I am 35 years old too, with two boys 8 and 12...am trying to get disability also. I applied and got turned down back in June...now I have an attorney and waiting for a hearing (or appeal) I took a drastic pay cut, and make under the $800/per month so I could try for disability. My boss was kind and paid me my full salary for over a year, but could no longer afford to pay someone who was never there...so I took the pay cut and cut my hours to about 10 hours a week, and he knows I am applying and is very cooperative with my whole process, and thankfully kept me on. Funny thing, there are times I can't even get 10 hours a week in...I feel so guilty! And yes, I have to work!! This pay cut is killing us financially. We have no nest egg left...never really had one to begin with. We have health insurance through my husbands work, but the deductible is very high...$3000 deductible a year and $750 co-pay hospital per night!! That doesn't go toward the deductible either. I am still paying off from last year...haven't even started on this years yet! Sorry, I started ranting...just wanted you to know that I completely understand how frustrated you are with the system...me too! You are not alone. Give your boys a big hug...that always seems to make me feel better when I am down about this...and hugs are free!! If you need to talk, I am always around, feel free to e-mail me! Hugs, Suzi B.
