Guest guest
Hi, I'm Bonnie from N.C. I'm just getting started and confused on what to do first. Do I send in my patient information first and wait to see if I'm a candidate for the surgery from Dr.R, or do I get the whole package together (letters etc.) and then send everything in at once. What is done at a clinic visit? I live close to Durham and was wondering if I could attend one just to gain more knowledge of the procedure. Thanks for any suggestions out there. Guest guest
Dear Bonnie, Trust me. Confusion at the onset of this process is NORMAL. Complete all 12 steps - do each piece - and then send the packet in as a whole. They won't accept it piece by piece. Don't wait, however, to finish the packet to start your insurance approval process. Let your insurance company be working on their part while you're working on yours. Attending the clinic visit would be a great primer for the process. It's very informal. There are other people there who are also curious. It's also a great place to meet other pre-op and those post-ops that have had the surgery the previous week. Just call the office and tell them you want to sit in on a clinic. Dr. R goes over the whole surgery, the risks and complications, what to expect in general.
