Guest guest
Kaye, Thank you so much for your email. I completely understand what you are saying. I definitely will look into that $500 amount. How long did it take you to get your SSD? Did you have to go to a trial? How do they figure your " back pay? " I am so thankful that you told me about the money thing. I will definitely have to check into that. The part that you mentioned about AFTER receiving benefits was very interesting. Did you continue to work through your whole SSD process? Also, you said that I will get my benefits, but what a hassle, are you saying this from experience? Those of us who do go to trial do most of " us " get approved? I am sorry about all of the questions, but everything you told me I had never heard before and I thank you so much. I would definitely like to " talk " sometime as I feel that we have a lot in common. I work for a small company in Dayton, Ohio, called Cottage Transcription. I have been a medical transcriptionist for 17 years. My specialty is Orthopedics, but I have typed a lot of different specialties. Thank you so much! I hope to hear from you soon. Here is my email address: nancy@... Thoughts and prayers are with you! T. (Ohio)
Guest guest
: Sorry I am just writing to you today but I ahd a bad day yesterday and not much better today. Don't worry about the questions. I am not basing on experience. I am basing on experiences from others. I am a case out of the ordinary. I applied for SS on October 30 or 31 of 1998 and I got mine approved on November the 13, 1998, two weeks. I had my back pay in the bank on December 1, 1998. So it took me 30 days. Unheard of. I have a post on Mark's TOPs website as to what I did. This is why I don't understand SSD. In my opinion, most of the folks in this group are a lot sicker than I was, though my hubby begs to differ. I was very sick and had the TPN thing etc. etc you name it. Someday I am going to write it all down but it would take a year to read it all. I think you will get when you go to trial but (this is just my opinion) I would back off on that typing hard as it is. Because it only took me 30 days to get mine, I was not working but had been but making nearly nothing. The way I was told they figure back pay is this: They decide what date you were actually disabled. It may not be the same date as you have given them. Then, they knock out the first five months and they figure your disability after that. I was told, you can only get 12 months back pay from the time you are eligible. I have had others say they got more. In my case, I had been sick for 16 months, they knock out the first five and I only had 11 months left anyway and I got all that. From what I hear, every state has its own way of doing things and I don't understand because this is federal. I don't think its as much a state thing as it is a " person " thing at the SS office. You have already applied and been denied etc, but go ahead and read what I put in Mark's TOPs website. Your E-mail address did not come through on here. You might want to type it out like this: at AOL dot come or whatever and I can get it. Mine is kayefortenberry at bell south dot net. We do have a lot in common especially with the medical transcription. I can remember being hooked up to TPN and sitting here like an idiot trying to type. But, you do what you have to do. Take care and keep in touch ok? Kaye P.S. I will keep looking for that 500 dollar plus amount. If I don't find it I will call and ask for you.
