Guest guest
My family Dr. had called on Tuesday night to see how my visit went with the pain management Dr. on Monday after I left his office. I told him all that was said and how he talked to us and how my husband had melted down and I had to get him taken care of first. After 7 years together and life, I have never seen this man do this. I think was just so shocked to hear someone talk to me like this. And also angry but knew that if he said too much would make work life unbearable. He is a suck it up and take it kinda guy at work anyway. Anyway to the point. I am vindicated, the test proved that I do have what he said I didn't have, and the Drs. at IU MED were right. I am not glad to have this problem, but relieved that I am not crazy. When people say these things to you, you begin to doubt what you are feeling and why you are feeling them. I am to return to Indianpolis at Methodist to see the ordering gastroenterologist who has already done the endoscope once on me. In the office he said " If you truely do have these things lady you have got some awful serious problems " Duh????? That is why I haven't been able to work for the last 5 years and could barely work the 4 prior to that. I refuse to take the liquid morphine, it doesn't help and it makes it worse. I remember in nursing school and from our nursing drug books don't give people with biliary problems morphine it causes spasms in this area. I spoke with my primary care Dr. and he knows what works it is what I have used for the past 5 years, I can't help it that it is expensive, I do have insurance, I know they just don't want to pay for it well to bad. I have had to take pain meds 3 times this week and I used what was left of what I had that worked I had a small amount left from when they orginally refused to fill the RX. I went from taking 9 doses of the liquid morphine down to nothing for 3 days until that evening I couldn't take it anymore. I promised the primary care Dr. that I wouldn't let myself suffer to bad and that if it got to bad I would take something ( he didn't recommend the cold turkey) I did it. Yesterday morning I took a half and then this morning the other half, as I can't hardly walk without it. I have alot of pain after I eat as usual. Limit the intake is all I can do, as I can't take meds after that I don't have. I did get a refill from him and took it to a local pharmacy as I am not fighting with the one at husbands work, if they yell at me I WILL yell back and thow one heck of a fit. I worked there and they treated me like a dog and it WON'T happen again. I don't care who I have to go to. I have reported them to my state representative before and may do it again, if I have to. The little pharmacy had to order it and it won't be in until Tuesday. I wonder if they are going to jerk me around too? I had gotten it from them before when the hospital didn't have it, but the Dr. I had at that time would give me voucher to get either 4-6 free from the manufacturer. I did not know this Dr. was doing illegal things, and he went to jail, and is currently in prison. Every Dr. I saw after that thought I was involved with what he did I had no idea I would have reported him. The main thing I wanted to say is that the Dr. who told me there was never anything wrong with me, and he never believed there was anything wrong. Has been proved WRONG again. He got a copy of the results I don't guess it will make much difference. If I were rich I would take him to court, but then if I were rich this would have never happened. Just an average person, that he can't do high ticket proceedures on anymore so he didn't want to bother with me anymore. Atwell LPN
Guest guest
Dear , I am glad to hear that you are getting on the correct track with your doctors and working with you to make a correct diagnosis. I wanted to comment that whenever I list my drug allergies (and there are many of them) I list Morphine, strictly because it makes the Spincter of Oddi spasm, thus causing more pain and misery in the realm of pancreas issues. I am really surprised that more doctors and PA's don't really think about this connect (i.e. in the ER, when things are so rushed). I have also seen that some people do still take it. One can never tell what works for one, doesn't mean it works for the other. I hope things continue to work in your favor and you find some doctors who take the time to understand you and your problems. Feel well, > it that there was > never anything wrong with me, and he never believed there was > anything wrong. Has been proved WRONG again. Guest guest
Dear , I hope you can make it through until Tuesday, and that the little pharmacy doesn't give you the run around. It sounds as though they don't intend to, or they wouldn't have even agreed to order more of the medication. You didn't say what it was that they ordered - what medication is it that DOES work for you? You must feel some satisfaction that the doctor was proven wrong. There is vindication in that. What many doctor's don't understand is that only WE know our bodies, and when something's wrong, we're the first to know. Take care and have as a quiet weekend as you can. Guest guest
I have an intrathcal pump with morphine in it, can you believe that! You would think that a PAIN MANANGEMENT Dr. would know this stuff, but I can tell you he didn't care. It was about charging over $80,000 for just the surgery and not the hospital stay. It also has pseufentanyl in it also and I still hurt. Fentanyl transmucosally has been the ONLY thing that has ever helped with the break thru pain, with the assistance of this medication, I can do just about anything I need to expect lift real heavy stuff. The issue I know is price. I am soon going to start a letter writting campaign to my elected officials. Guest guest
Actiq 800mcgs. Is the only thing that helps I have had 3 that I had used over a period of weeks, that I suck on until I can stand it and then put it up. I opened my last one today so I can go to church, it took about 1/4 of it before the pounding stopped, so I have the rest of it for tomorrow. The worst part is at noc, when sitting with my husband. As long as I keep moving I don't think about it as much or can get so busy doing what needs to be done, I only think about how hungry I am. I eat bites because if I eat a meal it hurts too bad and I would need medication that I don't have. It still hurts after I eat I just put heat behind me and infront of me and tough it out. As I said the worst part is trying to sit and spend time with my husband I jump and jerk, as thought being hit, stabbed and such. Facial grimace and you all know what I mean. It is very hard to pay attention. I have one 1600 mcg left out of the 3 they gave me when the pharmacy started giving trouble telling me they didn't have the 60 800mcg. We knew they were lying when a lady from pharmacy that works with my husband in the OR over the narcotic said hang on I think we have 23 of the 800's I'll get them for you. Then the pharmacist went off on my husband, and accused him and me of what ever his statement was " I know what you people are doing here " We have done nothing wrong, and requested drug screens from the Dr. to which we were denied. They have even protected this pharmacist by not provding his name to us, I know it is but they won't give us his last name. The know that I will turn him in. I am by far NOT done. I have been running a low grade temp since June, and underwent all of the blood testing for lupus, west nile and such and they came back negative, after the temp the pain increased, I have nightsweats and chills prior to the withdrawl I put myself through because the liquid morphine makes me hurt worse,(but it is $8.10 a bottle). My family Dr. feels it is my pancreas. I tried to explain this to the pain management Dr. I even told him I was running fevers sometimes 100.7 with Advil on board, he didn't care said " I have never had a pump infection, never " How can I make up a temperature???????When the Dr office is the one taking it??????
