Guest guest
Hi all, I do notice that after i eat something fatty, my ache on my left side is stronger. And I am good all day long...until THAT moment I sucumb to my favorites, chocolate or pizza, or like today, a piece of chocolate cake. I've always had food issues, and it seems to be my drug of choice. Eileen
Guest guest
Eileen; Stop eating that stuff then! Silly rabbit. Triglicerides can trigger pancreatitis. Once the fuce is lit, the whole pancreatitis condition has to run its course (as it has been explained to me). Hon, you gotta stop doing the things that make you feel pain or ill. If you experienced severe lower back pain after lifting heavy objects would you continue lifting heavy objects? Lifting them until you had to have a disc or back operation? If you could hardly breathe after smoking a cigarette would you keep smoking? OK, here is a good one. If your computer crashed every time you downloaded and installed some crappy hacker software, would you keep downloading and installing the stuff onto your computer knowing that it was going to damage and eventually destroy your computer? Of course not, computers are not cheap. Be thankful that when you eat those things your body signals you and doesn't trigger a full blown pancreatitis bout. Don't push you luck and ignore those little warnings (gifts really) unless you like 10+ day stays in hospital and the associated $5,000/day or more in expense. Change your lifestyle before you have no lifestyle to change. Find alternatives to the foods that are harming you. Maybve, if you must have....say ice cream, only have a small scoop? Try portion control and avoid the really bad things. Dick > Hi all, > > I do notice that after i eat something fatty, my ache on my left side > is stronger. Guest guest
Eileen; If the pain in your left side happens after consuming a BIG piece of chocolate cake, chocolate, or whatever else triggers the pain, I would do this.... Take a break from those things for at least a month. Then, if you must, try only eating a little bit. look at me, I kinda like Mc's french fries (any french fries really). I never eat more than the 4 or 5 fries. The amount that I can hold between my fingers. For instance, Mc's gives me a complete small order (yea, I never get anything larger than a small order there), I pick out 5 of the nicest ones, eat those and then throw the rest away. I also order my Big Mac without the sauce (mayo really). Also, I only do fast food once every other month. It is a treat, not a daily diet. I know it's hard hon, but once you do like I do and pick your 5 fries out and toss the rest into the garbage can RIGHT AWAY, you are comitted to no more fries (unless you like eating out of the garbage can). I always think of how people will spend money for anti virus software for their computers, not get freebie software, and will be fanatics about not letting people transfer files to their computer for fear of getting a computer virus. Yet, people will succumb to the moment and have unsafe sex and risk their lives by exposing themselves to life threatening viruses; it doesn't make any sense does it. Do we value the health of our computers more than our own health? Dick Hang in there, come up with some strategies to take control of your diet, and you will be all the better. ;-) .. > Thanks Dick, > I need the " talk " , I know. Guest guest
Eileen, I envy you, the chocolate makes me absolutely terrible. I had 20 chocolate coffee nips the other day and spent two days in the ER with pain and ectopic cardiac beats. Not a pretty picture. But if it works for you just think of me when you eat that piece of choc. cake. Deb
Guest guest
Thank you for the suggestions, Dick, I appreciate it. This is all so new to me. Such a change in my life in so many ways. Eileen
Guest guest
Aww, Deb, that's terrible! :-( I've got to work to stay away from the stuff. Hopefully, I will get the enzymes soon to help me digest my foods...as soon as someone diagnoses me! Eileen > Eileen, I envy you, the chocolate makes me absolutely terrible. Guest guest
Yeah, back in the ER last night and I had not had any chocolate or caffeine. I was having these darn runs of ectopic beats and am having them this am again. I feel like no one is listening to me, or taking me seriously. Take care and hang in there. Love Deb
