Guest guest
I wonder how many of us poor CP sufferers throw away, or leave on our plate, French fries or other goodies we'd love to eat?! I take just the teeniest sliver of cheese at the end of a meal...just enough to remind myself how much I used to love it....and the tiniest nibble of chocolate from time to time. OK, so I'm feeling sorry for myself. I've just spent a great weekend with a cousin of Jim's, and his wife (from L.A), visiting England. They stayed with us for a few days last week and we went up on Friday to Hadrian's Wall to visit the Roman forts. Of course, eating out was an important element in the visit. How I would have loved to enjoy all the goodies with everyone else, not to mention a glass of wine with my meals. Well, those days are over! I didn't dare, especially as I'm going through a very rough and rather scary pancreatic patch at the moment. I stuck doggedly to my grilled chicken breast, plain veg, fruit salad and tonic water, as they indulged in pasta or meats in rich sauces, spring rolls, French fries, choc fudge cake, Stilton etc. etc, washed down with good red wine! Sad, eh?! Sorry to moan. I thoroughly enjoyed myself anyway....apart from the panc pains and weakness from time to time. If only the medics could really crack this disease! Sorry again! Not like me. I usually look on the bright side. Just a bit hard when even spartan eating habits haven't stopped all the pain. Seeing my gastro tomorrow and also visiting the osteoporosis clinic. Speak soon. Warm wishes to all. Fliss (UK)
