On the quest for expertise, I found this site. I know someone else out

there is looking for one too.

It's the Columbia University Medical Center Pancrea department! They

actually have a department!

Dr. A. Chabot, who heads the Pancreas Center at Columbia

University Medical Center, has a mortality of less than 1% for the

Whipple procedure.

I wish I knew my way around NY, or had the energy to get there.

Hi Eileen. I am the other person looking for a NYC doc. Thanks for

that info. I think Columbia was the hospital I had heard was good...i

was told Columbia Presbyterian...i don't know if that's the same one

but I'm sure if they have a pancreatic department, that has to be

good! My problem now is finding someone who is covered by my

insurance. So the hunt continues, but I am going to check out this

site you posted and start checking with my insurance. I have been to 3

docs in other areas but i keep thinking i will find someone who will

be " the one " , so the speak. So thanks. Keep posting and I will do the

same if i find out anything else. Also let me know if you end up going

anywhere.

Good luck!
