Guest guest
Please Help. My son , 5 yr with Autism, has had yeast issues for a long time. Started on GFCF for 2 years then about 6 months ago switched to what we thought would be SCD. But we did not do the intro diet. Thus we have been on the " nut diet " . We never had any major signs of gut issues (He has not had any major diarrhea and he has always been a sound sleeper.) but oat panel tests have always shown yeast issues. Yet these past 6 months I have felt something was wrong because there was so much un-digested food in his stool. (even if it was formed) Then we got test results back stating that his yeast levels were worse than they were 6 months ago! Thus distraught, I have read and researched again. We are going to start the into diet in a few weeks and are ramping up for it now. We want to do it right this time! So I am trying to develop an intro diet and stage 1 menu now. I have read (fully this time) BTVC and as much of the web site as possible. I am trying to reconcile the intro menu from BTVC and pecanbread.com. Intro Diet Menu: Eggs – He may eat them scrambled but he has not tolerated the texture in the past. – Can the eggs be cooked in olive oil? Grape Juice (10% juice – 90% water) – he would drink this till he exploded if we let him. Homemade gelatin with juice – Gonna try it. Chicken soup – Remove the Carrots from the broth?? I am not sure if he will drink it but we may just put it in a cup with a straw. Egg Drop Soup - Hamburger Patty ( can he have salt and pepper ??) Any more ideas on what kind of menu people did during the intro diet? What about Snacks between meals. Both my boys snack between meals. Thank you (father of ,5-ASD & Jude, 3-NT)

He improved quite a bit from being on the diet but still things weren't quite right. After being on the diet using raisins, peanut butter etc. we went back to the intro diet and slowly reintroduced legal foods. That time things cleared up properly and he had consistent trophies. <<<<< So I am trying to develop an intro diet and stage 1 menu > now. For those with lots of damage in their guts oils and fats are difficult to digest. <<<<Grape Juice (10% juice – 90% water) – he would drink this till he > exploded if we let him. > > Homemade gelatin with juice – Gonna try it. > > Chicken soup – Remove the Carrots from the broth?? The best option is pureeing the cooked carrots (the recipe says simmered for four hours) in either water or some of the broth. <<<<< Egg Drop Soup - > > Hamburger Patty ( can he have salt and pepper ??)>>>> Salt is fine, but if bowels are bad pepper should be avoided. <<<<<Any more ideas on what kind of menu people did during the intro > diet? I pureed some carrots in the broth and they used that to dip the cooked chicken in. I also used the carrot and broth puree to dip meatballs in. I made gelatin with legal juice and gelatin and grape juice popsicles. Since they have been on the diet 2-3 days is probably long enough on the intro diet.
