Help please,

We are getting ready to start the diet. Planning on doing an intro

diet for 3 to 5 days then stage 1. My son goes to a school for ASD

children and they are very helpful and understanding with food. But he

eats lunch there and gets a snack. What sort of snacks can we send to

school the diet? We used to send peanuts and muffins, but he is aways

away from this on the diet.

Do we need to keep him out of school when we do the into diet?

Thanks

When I redid the intro I redid it over the weekend (started Friday

evening). You can send the pieces of chicken with carrot,

meatballs, homemade gelatin, diluted juice in reusable juice bottles

It depends on if he has a lot of die off and feels unwell. If that

happens you can try epsom salt baths.

We tried the chicken pancakes and my son threw them up. I am assuming

due to the texture. We have tried chicken 12 different ways and he

continues to throw it up. Chicken burgers, grilled chicken, roasted

chicken, chicken pancakes and flourless chicken nuggets. I can force

about 2 bites down and then on the 3rd or 4th bite he will puke. Last

time I remember saying to my wife " Its O.K. I caught it (the puke) in

my hand. " You know your a parent when you are greatful to catch puke

in your hand!

Any other suggestions would be welcome!

What kind of chicken are you using, ? Are you sure it has no

added broth, seasonings? You need to use at least the miminimally-

processed kind (no additives). Some people do better on organic or all-

natural free-range or organic free-range chicken.

If you try these other kinds and he still vomits, I would leave chicken

out of the diet for a while.

The intro diet is really hard my 5 yr. old has been on

it for 4 in a half days. I've tried everything chicken

baked to hamburger patties to chicken pancakes it

seems to me that the thing he's eatting the most is

scrambled eggs i've also tried putting deluted welches

grapejuice in icecube trays with little sticks in it

and I put just alittle pureed carrotts in it if u put

to much they'll taste it. He seems to like them. Have

u tried the jello with the grape juice jared doesnt

like it but urs might. Thats what I send to school

with him he'll eat it if he's real hungry. This is

really hard I know but just go one day at a time and

keep up the good work.

All the food we give him, we try to be as organic as possible. With

the chicken I think it is just the smell or texture or something. We

try it about every 6 months and I am hoping one day he will open up to

it. But as we started forming a plan moving forward, we thought " What

snacks are we going to send with him to school? " Thanks !

Ok, so chicken for school snacks is out for your son. How about ripe

banana (that's what I still send), pearsauce or applesauce, sneaky

veggie pancakes, banana pancakes, squash buttons, hard boiled eggs?

I have to say that the squash buttons are huge favorites for us already!

My son is eating them for breakfast and loves them -- we call

them " eggy cups " (if he knew they were squash I am not sure he'd love

them so much though he does eat squash knowingly at other meals). He

asked me this morning to make " 101 " of them so I guess I will be baking

squash tonight! He wasn't as keen on ones made with carrot but I am

going to try those again, as well as some fruits.

HI Kim:

Would you mind sharing the recipe for squash buttons? I can not locate it on

any of the websites.

Thank you!

Debbie
