Guest guest
I found out that I have elevated CA19-9 and CEA and the Cleveland > Clinic knew this in July 2005 but never called me. Dear Susie, an elevated CA19-9 led to the discovery of my pancreatitis in 2000. Every annual check-up since then has also shown an elevated CA19-9. There are several categories of elevation according to the Japanese instructions my doctor gave me last year. Pancreatitis can be the cause of the elevation, but they always want to do a CT-Scan just to check because my elevation is in the middle category (50-100U/ml). Since the CA19-9 is a blood test they do it along with the other blood tests, so I select it from the list of optional tests every year. Most likely you weren't informed because the doctors didn't find any of the other causes of elevated CA19-9 except your pancreatitits. Blessings for many good days, Dave (Japan) ---- MAYER mayer@...
