Guest guest
Please know that I will be thinking of you tomorrow. If those docs tell you to stay overnight, then dont argue, just do it. Better safe then sorry. Often times, if they do a sphincterotomy or place a stent they will keep you for what is called 23 hour observation or outpatient observation. Your family will be fine without you for a short while, trust me on that. I have two teenagers and a 10 year old. My son is 15 so I do understand where you are coming from. My son however, hates my guts, thinks I am the meanest mom on earth, and second only to satan in evil. So I guess I must be doing a good job...LOL. But seriously, and I hope this is not too late to tell you. Ask the doc if he is planning on doing a manometry reading and make sure you find out what the number is. It is a reading of how tight the sphincter of oddi is and it will let them know if you have SOD. A normal reading should be less then 15 millileters of mercury. I think that is how they say it, its been a while. Good luck and please let us know as soon as you are able how things have gone. DONT worry about the kids, even that big one you married, they will be fine. I promise. (cant say the same for the house tho...just kidding) Warmly (SC)
