Guest guest
With my last visit to the U of W medical center. I was told that after this last ERCP where they dialated my biliary tree of my liver and the replacement duct work that they put in in 2000 for the duidenum(sp) they took out they could no longer do anything ERCP's, etc. because of further damage of possible dialation and Post-ERCP pancreatitis. I understand what my situation is with this. At least I no longer need to take a 40 mile trip to a hospital. I am now to go to a local hospital (ER) when the pain gets really bad for only treatment of the pain. Walt > -------------- Original message -------------- > Kaye, a doc told me the same thing. Guest guest
And I will second that..I was told by the gastro doc that I just got rid of that I was too sick for his knowledge and that's why he sent me to the doctor affiliated with Harvard University that took one look at me and said " you don't have pancreatic problems. " This is without performing any tests or anything!!! There is someone else on this board that saw that same doctor in Boston (name will not be mentioned) and they told her the same thing regarding her son who was in an acute attack the day of the appointment!! He ended up hospitalized for three weeks after that apppointment when this doctor also told them that her son didn't have any problems with his pancreas. The problem is is that now that my last GI doc has sent me to him and gotten the " God-like " proclamation back from him...he told me he'd see me on an as needed basis (huh? I think for me that would mean on a regular, at least monthly basis) and then mumbled the stuff about " small duct disease " " maybe you should consult a surgeon...although I don't know of one that would go in w/o knowing anything " (er, don't they do exploratory surgery anymore?) AND then said the damning things (in my eyes anyway) of " you'll just have to learn to live with this I guess " This is after I pressed him on what I was supposed to do now and why weren't they running the MRCP he had previously scheduled for me? Well, he didn't feel that was necessary either after the proclamation from the " God-like " doc in Boston.... Unreal isn't it??? > Jerry, > > Word for word, I was also told that by at least 1 GI.
