For Rich - Protein Shakes

Hi Rich,

When I was a bodybuilder I used to drink those shakes, specifically

formulated for weight lifters. I thought they were great then. I don't take

them now because I don't need to. If I were you, I would look around, and go

to a place like GNC that stocks those products. Look for ones that are low

fat. Weight lifters and body builders want low fat products so they don't

gain the wrong kind of weight. I would start there with those protein

shakes. The others, like the Ensure product you mentioned, have lots of fat.

Some of the weight loss preparations like Slim Fast are OK. I use Slim Fast

when my pancreas is really bad, and I can't eat anything. The chocolate

stuff in cans is less than 20% fat by volume. (Remember, the FDA listing of

fat percentage on the side of the cans is not accurate. You have to

recalculate to determine actual fat percentage.)

I think it's a good idea for you to use low-fat shakes to supplement your

diet.

I hope you found this helpful.
