Guest guest
Hi guys, I just talked to my G.I. doc because I am having so much chest pain/pressure. He said if it gets unbearable that I should go to the emergency room & they may have to remove my gallbladder sooner ( I am sched. on Oct. 5th). My question is how much should I put up with? My shoulders/arms hurt as well & my fingers feal weak/numb. Thanks, K.

Guest guest
Hi , You should only put up with as much pain as you can tolerate. If you are moaning and writing about, then you should probably move-up your surgery. If you are in so much pain you cannot think or act on anything, then you should move-up your surgery. However, if the pain is simply a minor inconvenience and doesn't interefere with the daily activities of your life, then wait until the 5th. Question: Did you have a HIDA scan? That is when you get radioactive material via IV and have a scan. The reason I ask is, I had a HIDFA scan and they couldn't find my gallbladder. It was necrotic. I had to be admitted immediately. The problem is (was) if you have the same condition I did, your gall bladder can disintegrate and give you an infection throughout your abdomen. You would end up in the hospital for at least a month if that were to happen. Not a nice condition and very difficult to eradicate. If that were the case you should go to the hospital immediately. Jerry/NC P.S. - I am NOT trying to scare you, only to let you know what might be possible. However, please remember, I am not a doctor and you should take what I say with a grain of salt. ************************************** > > Hi guys, > I just talked to my G.I. doc because I am having so much chest > pain/pressure. Guest guest
Jerry If a HIDA is the one that takes a few hours & they give you an injection that is equivalant to eating a cheese burger then that is what I had. They said that my gallbladder was functioning at 30% after that test. Then the pancreatologist did an endoscopic ultra-sound & said my gallbladder has sludge. I am definately debilitated from this pressure/pain & not able to go about my daily life. Have been off work all week. My headache was the first cause but now starting today the chest pressure/pain that radiates through to my upper back is really bothering me. All I want to do is sleep. Have a fever of about 100 degrees. Thanks, K. Jerry Pople wrote: Hi , You should only put up with as much pain as you can tolerate. Guest guest
Hey Nance, just a last word. If you have a fever and severe upper right quadrant pain, I would go to the ER. Let them decide whether you should be admitted and get that surgery early. I wish you the best, Jerry/NC *********************** > > Jerry > If a HIDA is the one that takes a few hours & they give you an injection > that is equivalant to eating a cheese burger then that is what I had.
