when i had the ERCP the other day,he told my husband

everything looked fine, but he gave me a script for prevacid. i learned

this is a ulcer/GERD medication and i have neither.why else would he

put me on this, anyone know? thanks for any answers!

p.s. i was still knocked out afterwards, then my dr. went out of

town,so i have not had a chance to ask him this,so i thought i'd see

if any of you guys know!!

Cindy,

They did not find anything wrong? Your sphinter of oddi is fine, etc?

I I have taken that for GERD (which i am now wondering is caused by

the pancreas, not my stomach)

Does he think your stomach acids are to blame? Also, the pancreas can

cause acid in the stomach.

Cindy,

Are you taking enzyme supplements? If you're taking any enzyme

supplements that are NOT enteric coated, you would need an antiacid to

take prior to using the enzyme. Enteric coated means that the enzyme

is in a gel-like capsule, instead of a tablet or pill. Apparently he

is concerned about stomach acid, but I couldn't tell you why. You

need to call him and find out what the purpose is, and what he found.

Good luck.

With love, hope and prayers,
