Guest guest
Sometimes these new " acid blockers " exacerbate pancreatitis. If your pain levels get worse while on it, you should call your doc and discontinue its use. I don't know what the physical realtionship is between these drugs and pancreatitis, I only know that it exists. In fact, check for adverse reactions for Prevacid. I believe pancreatitis is listed as a possible adverse reaction for it. I may be wrong, but I don't think so. Just remember I am NOT a doctor, nor do I play one on TV. Guest guest
That is interesting Jer, because I have been taking Protonix (acid blocker) every day for 2 years for GERD. I wonder if this is what the problem is??? > > > > hello all, > > when i had the ERCP the other day,he told my husband > > everything looked fine, but he gave me a script for prevacid. i learned > > this is a ulcer/GERD medication and i have neither.why else would he > > put me on this, anyone know? thanks for any answers! > > > > > > p.s. i was still knocked out afterwards, then my dr. went out of > > town,so i have not had a chance to ask him this,so i thought i'd see > > if any of you guys know!! > > > > Cindy > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi all, I take 40 mgs of Protonix everyday and it doesn't affect me, hope this helps, Jim
Guest guest
Cindy " Protonix does caused pancreatitis as well as hepato-biliary problems. So if you have sphincter of Oddi, that is a double whammy far as I am concerned. I too have been tkaing it but threw it away when I read up on Protonix last night. Hope this helps.
