Cindy - Prevacid Question

Sometimes these new " acid blockers " exacerbate pancreatitis. If your pain

levels get worse while on it, you should call your doc and discontinue its

use. I don't know what the physical realtionship is between these drugs and

pancreatitis, I only know that it exists. In fact, check for adverse

reactions for Prevacid. I believe pancreatitis is listed as a possible

adverse reaction for it. I may be wrong, but I don't think so. Just remember

I am NOT a doctor, nor do I play one on TV.

Best Regards,

Jerry/NC

That is interesting Jer, because I have been taking Protonix (acid

blocker) every day for 2 years for GERD. I wonder if this is what

the problem is???

Cindy "

Protonix does caused pancreatitis as well as hepato-biliary

problems. So if you have sphincter of Oddi, that is a double whammy

far as I am concerned. I too have been tkaing it but threw it away

when I read up on Protonix last night.

Hope this helps.

hope this helps, Jim

Ditto for me, same dosage as Jim's, and I've been taking it for almost

two years now with no ill affects.

With love, hope and prayers,
