Guest guest
Cindy, My specialist tried to put me on the same thing. When I told him I don't have acid reflux or anything like that and questioned why I should be on it, his response was " because all my patients are on it. " Not a good enough answer for me, but thats just me. My medication costs $160.00 to $200.00 EVERY month and I pay over $900.00 a month for my premiums as well not including doctor visits. I can't afford to be taking something for a reason such as what he gave me. I truly struggle making my medication bill every month. Ask your doctor for a reason why he wants you on it. Make sure you get a good answer. If it is as Heidi said, because of enzymes, that would be a good reason. Or I know that my son is on prevacid 30mg once a day because he has nasal cysts and prevacid has been proven to reduce them and their severity in about 80% of all kids and adults who take this regeim. Do you have nasal problems? One more reason for the ant-acid use would be if you have alot of upset stomaches, which can irritate your pancreas. Too much acid in the stomach and not necessarily making it to your throat. I'd be interested in knowing his reasoning when you find out. :-) Sandy in Ca -------------- Original message -------------- hello all, when i had the ERCP the other day,he told my husband everything looked fine, but he gave me a script for prevacid. i learned this is a ulcer/GERD medication and i have neither.why else would he put me on this, anyone know? thanks for any answers!
