Nortriptyline side effects?

Last week I had a new and different symptom - lightheaded feeling -

that I reported to my doctor. I've also complained the past year

about blurred vision. Both of these can be side effects of

nortriptyline, but I have been taking it for a long time without

problems - about 3 years, I think.

My PCP wants me to cut back (1 week) and then stop the nortriptyline

to see if symptoms resolve, but has also scheduled brain CT (to see if

there's one in there?) and because my EKG was funky, an echocardiogram

and the Holter monitor.

The nortriptyline has worked wonderfully to relieve the background

chronic pain, so naturally I'm concerned that without it, that daily

pain that just wears you down will return. The doctor didn't suggest

any alternative - and if nortriptyline is a problem, perhaps that

entire class of antidepressants for chronic pain is no good?

Since CP, I am now allergic to penicillin and all sulfa drugs. I

wonder if I'm developing sensitivities to everything! Anybody else

have this?

Aloha,

in Hawaii

YES!!! I was put on ammamoxicillin, which I have taken all my life

with no problem and got very sick on it. Had trouble breathing.

But regardless of antibiotic, herb, whatever, sensitivities to

everything!

I wonder why?
