Oh my,, I am saddend to hear this. I know was a quiet type of guy, he

lurked off and on ( so to speak ) in the group. I had emailed him off and on in

the past 4 years. He lived in Florida, his wife was a nurse and he was having

difficulties off and on. He passed away on my son's birthday, it was a

Wednesday. I even spoke with him over the phone a time or two ( it has been at

least 2 years ago ) as he was sharing some info with me when I first started

with this group. Was he also paying for our 1-800 number that Karyn has

connected ?

Do you happen to know if this was pancreas related as he had other problems as

well? If you hear from his brother, please send my condolences. Thanks for

letting us know,

Hey all......I just got this message from Micheal Gay's brother......

I, too, am very saddened to hear this news about . I knew that

he had been having problems in the sense that he stopped any active

participation around 2002 for health related reasons. He was the

Florida state Representative, and had also been active with diabetes

support. I believe many of his contributions as a member took place

prior to 2002.

Hopefully, once Karyn has learned more about his death, she'll share

it with us. On those occasions that I spoke with , once by

phone and the rest by email, he was such a generous and caring

individual, yet obviously having difficulties with his health.
