Guest guest
I went to get my yogurt out of the maker at just past the 24 hour mark and the lid was ajar! Do I toss it? Do I wait til morning? I put the lid back on and will wait til I get an answer. 3 of us are on it. My son is very autistic and has alot of seizures and I just got him up to 2 cups today. What will this do to him? I gave us each 2 acidophilus. Thanks jo

Guest guest
>Sheila, With 8 of us in the house, I have no idea how long the lid was ajar. The yogurt temp was 90 degrees. I have let it continue to run. Should I let it run for a total of 48 hours? jo > Hi jo, > > <<<<I went to get my yogurt out of the maker at just past the 24 hour > mark> and the lid was ajar! Guest guest
Hi jo, I'd make sure it ran at the right temp for at least 24 hours. If you continue to run it it should have no lactose, but you may get very little probiotic effect. After a certain point the good bacteria will start to die. This yogurt (once you finish the incubation) may be best used for ice cream or cooking. It won't last in your refrigerator very long, Sorry, I know it is a real pain.
