Guest guest
Dick, It's the same medication. Just spelled wrong. I have Ativan, valium, xanax etc. I have a hard time with my major pain meds. They make me extremly wired so I take a xanax when I take a percocet at night. Helps alot. I have also taken a 1 mg xanax for the last 3 1/2 years and haven't had to go to the ER or hospital yet. Mind over matter or whatever you want to call it, the xanax really helps. I have spoken with my FNP about the possibilities of becomming dependant on it and I do not have an addictive personality. I do not think of it all the time. I take it once a day period! I take naps without it, I don't hide the pills to keep a stash of them in case I run out and can't get a refill, etc. I don't keep an exact count of them and I haven't upped the mg dosage in the 3 1/2 years I have taken it. I don't do any of those things that a normally addicted person might do. My FNP says it probably is a good pill to take as it is also a relaxant and that helps when the pain kicks in and we tense up and get ourselves into knots. I do know the risks of it and am fine with it. I do not take the other pills I have (ativan, valium) because the xanax is good enough for me. Snady in Ca -------------- Original message -------------- I am looking for different meds too. Mainly one to lower triglycerides as they trigger my pancreatitis attacks. What is Zanax? I have heard of Xanax (alprazolam) a benzodiazepine, but not " Zanax " . Dick & Alan (the service dog)
