Guest guest
Bonita, I hope Sheila, Marilyn, or Mimi respond to this because I'm not really confident of my answer. I think I would use it. I see references online (regular homemade yogurt, not SCD) to this problem being caused by too much starter or too long fermentation. Since you didn't keep it in too long (30 + hours) and " too much starter " doesn't hurt (Elaine used extra starter to make French Cream) I think you're ok. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
Hi Bonita, Was there a lot of liquid on top or just a small amount? Was there a layer of liquid in the bottom? Guest guest
Sheila, Some of the jars had just maybe 1/4 inch up to 1/2 to 3/4 inch. There was still that thin layer of thicker cream on top also. It was broken up in the liquid in some. All the jars did not look the same way except for the yogurt was thicker than normal in all of them. They all came out of the same big pot though. There really isn't any liquid to speak of in the bottom of the jars. Bonita Re: odd yogurt Hi Bonita, Was there a lot of liquid on top or just a small amount? Guest guest
Hi Bonita, If you are sure you added enough starter and the temperature was correct range and it is tart, it should be fine. If the yogurt was knocked during fermentation it may have seperated. Just try a small amount the first time you try it.
