Guest guest
Hi : I can't understand why they are illegal, the answer to the question wasn't very clear to me. Don't we need to have fiber in our kid's diet? Sorry, I don't get it. Thanks Jeanne wrote: Hi Jeanne, Sorry, seed flours are not legal: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/kb/seeds_and_seed_flours.\ htm --- Jeanne wrote: > Hi: > > Is pumpkin seed flour made from organic raw > pumpkin seeds and grinded up legal? > > Thanks > Jeanne __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Sorry, I forgot to add, what else is there if I can't use nuts or seeds? What about bean flours? Thanks Jeanne Jeanne wrote: Hi : I can't understand why they are illegal, the answer to the question wasn't very clear to me. Don't we need to have fiber in our kid's diet? Sorry, I don't get it. Guest guest
Hi Jeanne, The answer to this one isn't as simple. See Elaine's comments from www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/legal/legal_illegal_a-c.htm http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/kb/bean_flour.htm You might want to search the archives for people's experiences with bean flour. --- Jeanne wrote: > Sorry, I forgot to add, what else is there if I > can't use nuts or seeds? Guest guest
Hi Jeanne, I don't know any more than what Elaine said, but it looks like she was concerned about the fiber coating on the seeds feeding the bad bugs if we consumed them in large quantities. Maybe someone else can answer the fiber question. It seems I read somewhere that fiber is another one of those myths we've been sold by the food processing industry. As far as alternatives to nut flour, there are recipes for breads made from just eggs or eggs and winter squash. I can't eat nuts so just skip bread-type products, but I know that's not so easy with children. And as healing continues, there's always the hope we will be able to tolerate nut flour in the future! --- Jeanne wrote: > Hi : > > I can't understand why they are illegal, the > answer to the question wasn't very clear to me. > Don't we need to have fiber in our kid's diet? > Sorry, I don't get it. > Thanks > Jeanne __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Elaine allowed a sprinkling of seeds when GI symptoms are gone. When you grind up seeds for flour, you are using a huge amount. There is cyanide in the outer part of seeds. You are not only getting too much fiber, but also a whole lot of cyanide. mom to -12 SCd 4/23/
Guest guest
Jeanne, You don't say how long your child has been on the diet and what his issues are, but I think he's been on SCD for over a year. When symptoms subside, you may be able to use bean paste (considered advanced) as a substitute for flour. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/04 Yahoo!? > Tired of spam? Yahoo!
