Yes, we've used Dickson's pear sauce. We've never had any trouble with

it. We used it almost exclusively as a sweetener for about 2 years.

We found that we could get our Gen to eat dates too, so it helped out

as an occaisional treat. We also used the date cake recipe with success.

The nice thing about the pear sauce is that it doesnt have that slightly

telltale bitter overtone that honey has. Sadly, pear sauce is more

expensive than honey here, so we ended up switching to

honey after a gradual introduction. When asked what he'd like best

for his birthday, Gen has told us his wish was to have a big bowl of

fresh fruit-- so it has made life a lot easier for us.

-good luck all. Vigilance! -Allan.

Thanks , you are correct; it has only been our experience, and in

no way officially legal you will have noticed that

just as everyone's conditions vary, so are the results. Also, I'm sure

no one needs reminding, but don't forget to keep

a food log, (that way you'll know what is suspect) and never add more

than one food at a time (so you'll know the

results.) Congratulations ! It sounds as if things are a bit

easier. It means we all sleep better too! -Allan.

Just a caution to beginners to not experiment with store products whose

legality has not been verified. I'm glad Allan's family has not had

trouble with this pearsauce, but it may not work well for everyone and

we cannot vouch for its legality.
