Guest guest
Beau, It's funny that it seems as though there's always at least one or two others who will chime in and admit to having a pain similar to the one we write in and ask about. I don't have any battery acid problems, thank heavens, but before my burn out, I also used to get that vice-grip type of pain at the bottom of my sternum, base of the ribcage. Mine felt like it went all the way around my body to the back, as though there was a wide band there that kept getting pulled tighter and tighter, until it became painful to take deep breaths. Those were the nights when I used heating pads on both front and back, just to get some relief. The only good thing I can say about that one is that at least it wasn't there all the time, and seemed more sporadic in nature than some of the other addominal pain was. Learning to accept this disease can take time for the best of us, and I'm sure that everyone's dealt with denial at some point, especially if their symptoms aren't that severe. Yet, along with acceptance comes some peace, and it also opens up the doors to knowledge and support gathering, which can benefit us all in the whole scheme of things. The more we know about CP, the better equipped we are to face the obstacles ahead with clear vision and good sense. I hope we can help you with any hurdles you may encounter along the way.
