Guest guest
Hi , I got to thinking....I had a couple of sessions with the PT department for myofascial massage last year (to get the muscles that spasm from pancreas pain to relax) and it made me wonder if a PT department would offer more information about " stretching " or softening adhesions. I also remembered that a friend who is an oriental medicine practiioner also offers therapeutic massages. Maybe these could be a source for you to learn more...or to give it a try. I also liked Eileen suggestion: as long as you find a qualified one, like she said....bad pun and all! But I understand your wanting to do something about this, especially as you are getting signs / symptoms that it is a situation that could be a litle dangerous as well as uncomfortable. You are right to be on top of this......and you are right to keep discussing this with your surgeon (you sure he isn't the Clooney one?!) I guess my comment on the three to five years wasn't so much that I thought you should wait, but more a reflection on my part that maybe it is true that they soften...but like I said, so much is / was going on with me in my first 5 years of recovery. And I truly believe that it took that long to get to a " stable " level - although there will be ups and downs forever, no doubt. It would be interesting to know about your adhesion history but I am not sure if you will be able to tweeze that information out of your various doctors. In my experience, that is not something that they write down in the operative report unless it grossly interfered with the procedure. The information that I got was usually a " hmmmmmm.....I think I remember having to tug and lyse and scrape....... " As far as the envelope, don't be too stressed about it. When you get it, you get it. I am mellow about this! My machine gremlins are still attacking. I had a centrifuge that broke down and needed three service calls (over a week) to get it running again.....a freezer died and I have to find storage for three years worth of blood....and now my blood analyzer just died and I put in for an emergency service call. I am just waiting for my radio-isotope detector to go down. It is one very frustrating situation. On top of it, our car has a gas leak and I feel like crap: both pain and nausea / " flu " ish. All I want to do is curl up and sleep but I can't do that because I feel so sick to my stomach or in pain - night sleep has been fairly elusive. It doesn't help that I have a mouse in my bedroom....he keeps me awake too. My two geriatric cats are not interested in " asking the mouse to leave " . In the past, they have been awesome mousers.....I guess I have to trade them in for a new model (which I couldn't even think of, because they are my babies......for good or bad, kinda like a husband I guess). But I think that money was put back into my account. I called on Monday to check on it and she said she was entering as we spoke....but I haven't gone on-line to check. I am taking her word for it. And so far, no monitor.....I heard rumours that it was purchased but so far no sign. Unfortunately, the purchaser for our division likes to play headgames with things like this. So I will not hold my breath. Afterall, it is ONLY 6 months since the purchased the CPU......why expect a monitor so soon? It CPU looks so nice sitting in its box acting as an expensive doorstop...... So basically, that is why I have been silent: I feel like crap bigtime and my workplace is falling down around my ears - I actually have to put in an 8 hour day trouble shooting all these breakdowns! How dare they..... laurie
