Guest guest
Just wanted to let all of you know about my experience with Nitro for attacks. Well, when I was given Nitroglycerin 4 years ago in the ER duringing an attack, it made the attack stop within 5 minutes. I discussed this with my GI doc recently , and he said that it was worth another try next time I have an attack (to see if it works). Well, 4 years ago I had SOD dysfunction, but tonight I took the Nitro during my attack and it did nothing. I was very disappointed but not too surprised. I've had lots of ERCP's for SOD and my GI doc told me that basically I have NO Sphincter of Oddi left. Meaning, most of the muscle is gone from the sphincterotomies, etc. I was really hoping that the Nitro would help still, but at least for MY experience it did nothing for the panc attack. Just thought I would share this with you guys and gals. Take care everyone, Krisin TN
Guest guest
Kris, So sorry to hear that you had a bad night, and I hope now you're sleeping it off, to wake to a better day. Moving out of one house, putting your things into storage and waiting on moving into another one can cause a lot of stress and hardship, no wonder you're not feeling well!! I hope that you do have a better time of it, then you'll be settled in the new place before you know it. Until then, take care of yourself and try not to overdo. Let us know when you can get in to see Dr. Lehman. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Guest guest
Hi Kris: I'm sorry that it didn't work for you this time..I was getting interested thinking maybe somebody had found something that actually helped to ward off an attack. Not to be I guess.... I AM curious about one other thing though if you don't mind: if I remember correctly you live in Tennessee correct? (hence: Kris in TN?) Do you exclusively see ONLY Dr. Lehman in Indiana for your GI? Guess I'm just curious and although I need to find a good doctor a bit closer to home..I'm also kind of wondering (back burner kind of a thing because we don't really have the money right now and my Mom has been helping us so much with everything already financially that I can't ask her to help out with the travel to IN) if maybe sometime in the not too distant future if I should make an appointment to see him as well. The thought of another ERCP scares the pants off of me though I must admit AND the thought of travelling at this point isn't as easy as it was back in Aug of 04. Then I was averaging a much decreased daily pain compared to now.... Anyway, just curious. I hope you get to feeling better and that your move goes smoothly for you. I can't imagine doing that right now either.....there is no way I could pack all of those boxes like I did when we moved into this house seven yrs ago!!
