Guest guest
Thanks for the good thoughts and words Chrissy. As always, I appreciate them. Yes, I DID see Dr. Lehman in August of 2004 and he found high pressure at the SO and at the common bile duct and performed a dual sphincterotomy with temp stents put in. Unfortunately, I was not one of the people that benefits from the procedure at least at the first get go, and I've probably been about 60% worse than before going to see him. Although I'm sure some of it can be chalked up to just the fact that it is getting worse and perhaps some scar tissue buildup. Also, unfortunately, his office doesn't seem to want to help me in finding a doctor in my area. They DID give me the name of one when I left IU, but he turned out to be (sorry!!) a horse's arse and basically said he didn't know where my pain was coming from, didn't believe that the numbers that he saw warranted the sphincterotomies but please do come back next month so I can suck up your insurance money. Sorry but I'm getting VERY jaded at this point... From then on out it's been a battle with just about every doc that I see. Unfortunately there isn't much " objective evidence " that occurs with me, i.e., high enzyme levels, etc. and of course it's (or at least last spring) too early to see anything on visual imaging studies. So, I get sent up to Boston (Brigham and Women's affiliated with Harvard University) see the " God-like " Dr. Banks...referred to him by the GI that I'm about ready to get rid of (see my post on Well, I Tried....) and since he also agreed with the new GI that Dr. Lehman acted differently than he would have (even though he claimed to not only know Dr. L professionally but personally as well) given the numbers that I showed via ERCP/manometry).... Well, I could go on and on....but I won't. I have got to get the fight back up within myself and not give up. Even though the docs claim that this is a " pain management issue " and nothing more...this " battery acid burning " symptom is something new and I'm really getting concerned especially since Jerry told me that something like this happened to him and it turned out that the SO had completely closed up due to scar tissue and that the bile basically blew a hole thru the back of his panc and out into his abdominal cavity OR that I possibly have a pseudocyst or something. Why, why, why don't these docs run another MRCP or CT scan? I have't had one since the spring of 2004!!! Arrrgh.... Sorry to rant Chrissy that wasnt my intention. Thanks again for your kind words and encouragement. P.S. Heidi: If you happen to read this, yes I think I'll request a copy of my files and get rid of the Dr. Banks stuff. Don't want that to jinx me with every doc from here on out....
