Rice sat better with me at one month, but I understand that most people cannot eat much rice. Good luck, Betty>>>> Hi Betty! Pardon the corny subject line... I'm feeling mischevious. *smile* It's my true self coming out... a real smarta$$ ya know? Miso soup is Japanese in origin, and made from a seasoned soybean concentrate. You can find miso in a paste form, waiting to be mixed, one teaspoon in a cup of boiling water, at a health food or oriental grocery store. A good brand to try if you can find it is, " Mello Miso. " If in doubt ask the customer assistants in the store. If you want to try before you buy... go to a Japanese restaurant or sushi bar (If you don't care for fish, don't worry, they also serve chicken teriyaki. *S*) and ask to try a bowl of miso soup. Hummus is a Meditranean (sp?) dip/condiment made from garbanzos, olive oil, lemon juice, and tahini (sesame seed paste). I make my own to avoid the fat from the olive oil and sesame. It is originally served with pita bread, but I love it on my crackers. (When I can eat more solid food: I love eating hummus with sliced tomatos, cucumbers, and a little feta cheese.) This is how I make my hummus. Place in food processor and blend until smooth: 1 can of garbanzo beans (undrained) 2 Tbs lemon Juice salt, pepper, garlic to taste (optional) 1 shake of Tabasco (optional) 1 tsp ground cumin Eat on crackers... *after* the liquids only postop phase. Hope that helps!! Jenn... Vancouver, WA MGB 11-1-00 300/272/160 ________________________________________________________________________________\ _____ Get more from the Web. Guest guest
Jenn, a copy of your post will go right into my recipe file. That hummus sounds wonderful. The miso soup also I will try next week. Thanks so much. Betty Re: >Re: 1 month update > >Hey Jenn, what is hummus and miso soup? Those are new to me. Is the >soup >homemade also?
