Guest guest
Hi everyone, I hope you are all pain-free. I haven't posted in a while as I was on vacation in sweltering hot Florida. I am now back in Vermont and the mountains are covered in fall colors as the leaves turn, I love this time of year. I read a post about gaining weight, I started to gain weight when my blood sugars came under control, at the same time I switched from pancrelipase to Creon 10. So I started absorbing my food and calories much better. I am now at an all-time high of 215, ouch. My surgeon/gastro Dr was telling me to gain weight since `1999'. Well, I made him happy and my endocrinologist sad. I have been having a very hard time sleeping lately. My MD gave me ambien, which is like a Tic Tac minus the mint, or nothing. I also have used benadryl, which works less effectively the more you use it. So, I am at wits end. I tried reading and boring documentaries, nothing seems to make me sleep. Even tried sleepytime tea and a few other teas to no avail..any suggestions would be welcomed. Jim
Guest guest
Hi Jim; I take 50 mg of trazadone at bedtime for sleep. Puts me out within a half hour without the groggyness like elavil did. They are both anti- depressants, but trazadone needs to be taken at dosages nearing 700+ for it to work as an anti-depressant. I did elavil and it wiped me out for two days. I have learned to not do anything in bed but sleep (alas I am single). LOL, I mean not to watch tv in bed or read or anything else like that. Trained my body to associate being in bed with sleeping. Hope this helps. Dick I got my new sleep number bed by select comfort yesterday and thought i'D BE SLEEPING LIKE A BABY. bUT SOMEONE, A CERTAIN 105 POUND LABRADOR HAD OTHER PLANS FOR THE BED FOR THE NIGHT. i SWEAR HE TOOK UP 3/4 OF THE THING (QUEEN). HE WAS NOT SLEEPING ON MY PREVIOUS BEDS. wHAT A BRAT. jUST LAST NIGHT. GO FIGURE. > Hi everyone, I hope you are all pain-free.
