Well, I went in to see Dr. Adam's today. He says we have to do the Beger

procedure. He says it is up to me when I want to have it done. It depends on how

long I can live like I am and how much pain I can tolerate. My lipase is

staying about 500. I had a good pity party today and cried on my hubby's

shoulder.

If anyone has had the Beger could you please share your experiences. If you

don't want to post them on the board you may email me privately.

Thanks,

Angie: Glad to hear that you're going to have the Berger procedure

done. I'm really hoping that that will be the end of all of this

suffering for you. I'm curious though...when do they make the

decision that you're to have it done, i.e., what criteria do they

use? Is it the damage that's been done to the pancreas that can be

seen visually? Or do they do it strictly because of the pain that a

person is in?

Thanks and take care

,

My main reason is because of my pain and vomiting so much. I am anemic

because my iron is so low. I can't eat enough to keep it up. And I am doing iron

supplements but it is not really helping. My doc feels like this will really

help. I have an awesome doc and he is very understanding and concerned about me.

He was so concerned that he asked to contact me to talk to me about

the operation. How many docs even think of you when you leave their office? I

was amazed that he did that. I love that man!!
