Small bowel follow-through

Just a quick note (what a day........nothing good about

it).

A small bowel follow through is just a barium swallow that they

watch go through your small bowel. Nothing bad. The only

painful part is that they use a ping-pong paddle type thing to

squish your abdomen to get the barium to coat the bowel. I

found that to be very painful - so if you do it, make sure you have

meds on hand. pre and post procedure if they let you.
