Guest guest
I started SCD four months ago. My IBS type symptoms went away within a few days. Wonderful! But I still had bad bloating every day along with all my other symptoms, including lots of itching. About one month ago, my IBS type symptoms came back and are still here. Not wonderful. I feel horrible, as bad or worse than before I went on SCD. I believe I have a yeast problem. Should I start over with the introductory diet? I bought some SCD vitamins and supplements, but I really don't feel well enough to take them. I tried cow's milk yogurt and it seemed to help until this recent flare up. The goat's milk yogurt won't solidify. I've tried twice and it remained in liquid form both times. No idea what I'm doing wrong there. I had allergy testing right before I started SCD and I reacted to eggs and milk. I have lost almost 20 pounds in 4 months, which is fine, but not my goal. I just want to feel better. Thanks for listening to me whine. , on SCD since 07/07. No formal diagnosis, but have symptoms of IBS and yeast (Candida).

Should I start over with the introductory diet?>>>> Going back to the intro and slowly readding foods may help pinpoint any problem foods that you aren't tolerating right now. You may also be going through the three month flare. Going back to the intro should also help with that. What foods are you eating now? I agree with you that it may be a yeast problem. > bought some SCD vitamins and supplements, but I really don't feel well enough to take them. I tried cow's milk yogurt and it seemed to help until this recent flare up.>>>> Sometimes when in a flare it helps to stop the yogurt for a while or drip the yogurt and eat a bit less. Depending on the severity of symptoms during your flare the good natural enzymes in the yogurt may be irritating you somewhat. Redoing the intro (minus yogurt) may allow you to get " back on track " . <<<< The goat's milk yogurt won't solidify. I've tried twice and it remained in liquid form both times.>>> Goat yogurt is much more fluidic than cow milk yogurt. I find that sometimes it is runny like a sauce or gravy. <<<< No idea what I'm doing wrong there. I had allergy testing right before I started SCD and I reacted to eggs and milk. Guest guest
Stan Kurtz always suggests that people run an IGG food alergy test before going on SCD full force. I wish that I had heeded this advice, maybe you are still new enough to get a test done and see what it will yield for you. Since starting SCD, my symptoms have come back on a number of occasions. I have found out the hard way that I am sensitive to onions, dairy, carrots and that my teeth need to be fixed because any time I eat whole almonds, I get sick (but almond flour and butter is fine). An IGG test would have told me that from the start, and saved me a lot of pain. I suggest you get a test. I always go back to the basic diet if I have a flare up. I want to add one more idea, and I think that this is worth remembering. It takes a while for the gut to heal. While it is healing, it isn't healthy. It's like a wound with a scab on it. Sometimes, until the healing is finished, it's going to hurt a little. In addition to that, our bodies have spent a lot of effort numbing the pain we had when we were continuing to assault our systems. With the pain killers gone, we are feeling what it actually feels like. Hang in there. Not only does will you get better, you will get well. > > I started SCD four months ago.
