Guest guest
, I hope that you are feeling better now. Just wanted to let you know that I tried like the devil to contact you yesterday. I called Kizer Medical Center around 1pm our time, (10am yours), and after asking if you'd been assigned a room, was transferred down to the Recovery Room. The phone there was answered by an answering machine, so I thought I'd try later in the afternoon to find out where/how you were. Right after school Austin and I went on a quick shopping spree for some long pants for him to wear now that the weather's gotten cooler and it's raining so much. Well, that " quick " shopping spree ended up taking 3-1/2 hours, because everywhere we went the only size 16 pants or jeans we could find were in Husky sizes - discouraging that there is need to make so many of these, obviously the obesity problem exists and now we have to cater to it! Austin's just a healthy, normal sized 13 year old. It was pouring down rain due to the tropical storm passing through, and we were stuck in traffic due to two car accidents along the way. By the time we got to Old Navy at 7:10, we were both soaked to the skin, hungry, and tired of searching. We took a quick dash with the umbrella up to the door of the store, and the clerk came to the door and said that they were closing early due to the storm, and wouldn't let us in. WHAT? Closing early just because it was raining hard? Gee whiz!! There were only 3 cars in the parking lot, so I think the girl was just bored and using the storm as an excuse, but I was ticked because we'd only found 2 pairs of pants thus far, and I could see racks of them hanging in the store. So we drove home, forded through a new Lake Griffeth that had formed in the driveway of our property, and came inside. I picked up the telephone and called Kizer again, once again being transferred down to the Recovery Room when I asked for you. The woman who answered the phone said that you were just getting ready to leave, that you were okay, and for me to wait an hour and call you at home. As I said, " but, but, I don't have her phone number and I'm calling from the East Coast " , she turned to someone else and said something, then got back on to me and I asked her if she could catch you and tell you that I'd called, and she told me that you'd already walked out the door....sigh. So I tried, and at least I did find out that you were okay and that you were able to go home. Hopefully you'll be feeling even better when you read this, and keep improving each day. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth SC and SE Regional Representative P.A.I.
