I was searching for a Ca/Mg supplement I could take after starting SCD because the one I was taking was illegal. I found a great product that I'm pretty sure almost everyone can tolerate. It is an ionic form of minerals in purified water. The ionic form makes them almost immediately absorbed and there is nothing illegal or unhealthy added. I take the Bone Support, the Multi-Mineral Blend and the Immune Support. I get restless leg syndrome and muscle cramps and when I take these I don't get any. They are very easy to take because they look like water and have practically no taste. You can just add them to anything, juice, water food etc. _http://eidon.com/_ (http://eidon.com/) _http://eidon.com/mineral_blends.htm_ (http://eidon.com/mineral_blends.htm) _http://eidon.com/minerals_new.htm_ (http://eidon.com/minerals_new.htm) Doreen MC 3 1/2 yrs, SCD 3 mos ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
Guest guest
My mom says that potatoes prevent rickets. Does anyone have any comments about this. We have been SCD for 5 weeks now and I am constantly worried, particularly about calcium. Both boys can only tolerate very small amount of Ca suppliment. Mostly we give them no suppliment. I am giving them almonds to eat (soaked and peeled) and stock in the form of jelly, and sometimes in soup. But, I have no idea how much Ca they are getting from this. They eat lots of vegetables, meat, eggs, fruit, salad. Also, is looking quite skinny and he has a bruise on his leg from being bumped which is healing ever-so slowly. Could this be due to a phenol problem, he does not tolerate phenols very well. has improved neurologically, but he appears more sensative to foods now than prior to SCD. We did not start with the intro diet, so maybe this is the problem. He still has undigested foods in his stools. I am finding the actual work required to do the diet is getting easier, but my worries about it are increasing. Guest guest
Hi, Kath, Here's a link about rickets: http://www.umm.edu/ency/article/000344.htm Since it is also known as vitamin D deficiency, I doubt that potatoes are the answer. Cod liver oil is a good source of vitamin D If you want more calcium, you could try salmon with the bones. After a while longer on SCD you can try goat cheese and goat yogurt. The almonds and the bone broth are good to be eating in the mean time. For undigested food in the stools, you might try pureeing those particular foods, or trying the intro diet, followed by adding in one new food every 2-4 days. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
